Narrated by Hesiod

Once upon a time...

two generations before the mighty Zeus, came Uranos -  the god of the sky. He created Aphrodite Urania by himself, with no help from another woman. She got her name from the Greek word "aphros", which means "foam" from which she was born.

The foam she was created from floated past Cytherea and emerged at Cyrprus. Both of these cities had cults to her in Ancient Greece. The Cyprus temple of Aphrodite, created by the Phoenicians of the Syrian city - Ascalon, is older than me.

Born solely from a father, Aphrodite Urania partakes in a more masculine nature. Known as "Heavenly Aphrodite", she inspires the love between two men and the love of learning and wisdom. She embodies pure, spiritual love.
